The first thing about buying fabric online is that all monitors distort color. I try to describe colors as best I can, but you may be much more sensitive & see subtle nuances & shades that I do not.
If you are blessed with a discerning eye and if the exact shade is important it is best to buy a swatch or buy from a neighborhood store and not online. You won’t be disappointed & they’ll appreciate the business !

I used to make evening jackets , gowns & evening coats that were REGAL & devastating ! You’ll make  a killer drop dead outfit from this !!!

 Are you familiar with Indian sarees ? They are quite amazing in that they have selvage borders and then a large border at one end that ends the panel. I used this large border for jacket fronts or sleeves or dress bodices. Take a little planning but the end results are spectacular !
On a Typical Sari, the left end is plain while the right side ends an elaborate border called a Palla.

Some are woven with a selvage border on the selvage others with two, one on the top & one on the bottom of each selvage. 

Occasionally ( especially in embroideries ) the top border will only be approx 1.5 yards to 2 yards in length while the bottom border goes almost the full length.   

The center field of the entire fabric panel may have designs varying from a solid to a sprinkling to a full overall dense design.

My fabrics are single cuts & I can’t cut large chunks out of them as it causes problems for the person sewing. I will apply the $5 towards the purchase of that fabric.
